Chief Wastewater Operator

The Town of Epping is seeking a qualified Wastewater Treatment Facility Operator for full-time employment. The Chief Wastewater Operator is responsible for all operational aspects of the WWTP, permit compliance, reporting and collection system maintenance.

Epping’s 0.5 MGD membrane bioreactor plant was constructed in 2000 and has undergone multiple upgrades since.

Epping is in the process of designing a major WWTP upgrade which will be completed in the next few years, allowing the new operator to have significant input on future operations.

The Operator shall have working knowledge of aerobic and anoxic biology. 

Minimum qualifications:

State of New Hampshire Licensed Grade III Wastewater Operator.

Valid driver’s license.

40 hour work week, M-F 7:00-3:00 with occasional weekend duty shifts required.

Salary range $80,000 - $100,000 (annually).

This is a non-union position.

Grade 1 Wastewater Operator

The Town of Epping has an opening for a Grade 1 Wastewater Treatment Facility Operator. The Grade 1 Operator is responsible for routine operations and maintenance at the WWTF and the collection system, answering directly to the Chief Plant Operator.

Minimum qualifications:

State of New Hampshire Licensed Grade 1 Wastewater Operator, or the ability to obtain Grade 1 within 12 months of hire.

Valid driver’s license.

40 hour work week, M-F 7:00 – 3:00 and occasional weekend duty shifts required.

Wage commensurate with experience.

Truck Driver/Laborer- $25-$30/Hour

CDL-B with air brake endorsement required.

Plow experience with a six-wheel dump truck, wing, and sander preferred.

Job includes working outdoors year-round, including mowing, road maintenance, tree removal, facilities maintenance, shoveling, and more.

Roll-off truck experience is a plus.

Firefighter/EMT

The Town of Epping Fire Department is seeking candidates to fill an open Full Time Firefighter/EMT position and a compile a list for future open Full-time positions. Advanced EMT, Paramedic, or Paramedic Student preferred. We are looking for a highly motivated individual who will demonstrate their commitment to our town, perform responsible firefighting operations, emergency medical care, and other related duties as required.

Minimum qualifications for applicants are as follows:

  • 18 years of age
  • High School diploma or GED
  • State of NH current CPAT certification.
  • Certification as a Pro-Board Firefighter I (Firefighter II preferred or must be obtained within one year of hire.)
  • Nationally Registered EMT.
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license issued by the State of NH
  • Pass criminal and driving background checks

Lateral transfers of full-time career personnel pursuant to State of NH Admin Rule 703.01 are encouraged to apply.

Additional consideration given to applicants with:

  • Paramedic Certification or currently participating in a Paramedic Class.
  • Advanced EMT Certification or currently participating in an AEMT class.
  • New Hampshire CDL with tank and air brakes endorsement.
